Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) in Vancouver

At this time of year in Vancouver , we are often have increased our activities whether its from cycling, running, squash. Even though we tend to enjoy beautiful BC more we are still caught on our computers most of the day. We have made as a community so many improvements in our ergonomics. That being said it is still challenging to maintain proper posture throughout the day. The sight of a forward head position, rounded shoulders, internally rotated arms, and anterior-tilted pelvis is commonplace in offices, at restaurants, and in the gym. If these patterns are left unchecked, injury rates increase, breathing patterns change , and your performance may be diminished.

If you are a weekend warrior, new parent or a professional athlete, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is great to add into your body maintenance routine and can benefit people of all ages and activity levels.

So what exactly is Fascial Stretch Therapy ( FST ) ?

Fascial stretch therapy (FST) is a pain-free type of manual therapy using table-based assisted stretching performed by a certified practitioner. It uses movement through a series of stretches to unlock tension in the deepest layers of tissues. The aim of FST is to unravel restrictions in the fascia and joints, relax the hold the nervous system has on the tissue, and open up the joint space.

You may be wondering what you are going to wear. For FST even though it is hands on treatment, we ask clients to wear athletic clothing that allows ease of movement during the session.

At Humanity Wellness, Claudia Choi one of our RMT’s is able to provide FST for the Greater Vancouver area as we are located in the heart of Yaletown.
